摘要:ABSTRACTMitefauna from Ilex paraguariensis St. Hil.: Aqüifoliaceae (yerba mate) in the state of Rio Grandedo SulIlex paraguariensis St. Hil. (Aqüifoliaceae) is a tree of the great economic importance, mainly insouth of Brazil, where occurs in native or cultivation form. The mites Dichopelmus notus Keifer, 1959(Eriophyidae), Oligonychus yothersi (McGregor, 1914) (Tetranychidae) and Polyphagotarsonemus latus(Banks, 1904) (Tarsonemidae) have been mentioned as pests of this crop in Brazil and Argentina. Theaim of this study was to determine the diversity of mitefauna present in crop of “yerba mate” in the Stateof Rio Grande do Sul, and to elaborate a dicotomic key for the separation of the species found. Thisstudy was conducted in one field of “yerba mate” in Capitão County. The samplings were conductedmonthly between October 2001 and July 2002. Twelve leaves were colected in the strata median of eachof twenty five plants taken randomly, totalized 300 leaves for sample. A total of 9062 mites were found,belonging to 11 families. The most specimen collected belonging to the family Eriophyidae, composedby phytophagous species. Stigmaeid is the family of predatory mites most common. Twenty three specieswere identificated. Phytoseiidae was the most richness family, with seven species, followed by familiesTydeidae and Tetranychidae, with three species each
