摘要:Medical students are confronted with significant academic, psychological and existential stressors throughout their training. Research observations
also suggest increase in stress during the course of medical education. The objective of the study was to collect data regarding depression,
anxiety and stress in undergraduate medical students and to co relate it with their academic performance.
Methodology: 42 item depression anxiety stress scale and stress inducing factor questionnaire was administered on 109 students of 1st year
medical course. Second periodical marks scored by students were recorded.
Results: Study conformed that amount of anxiety and stress was comparatively higher than depression.Incident of stress was 51.37%, anxiety
66.05%, depression 39.44%. Academic factors were perceived as most stressful (p<0.05). There was no co relation between stress anxiety and
depression with academic performance.
