摘要:The Jesuits’s work has been an important source of information for the understanding of some aspects of the activities of the missionaries and their interaction with the native people (Indians) of the “New World” (America). This essay examines how the theme “war and peace” appears on Montoya’s work. His chronicle was written at the time several violent raids by “bandeirantes” were threatening and attacking the “reduções” (Jesuit Missions).
