摘要:This is a field-based disguised two-part case which describes the market and operation of a small conglomerate business, in the home rental and home construction markets. The immediate problem is how to make the operations profitable enough so that the managing partner can afford to start to take a salary from the business and leave his teaching position. Longer term, the partners need to address how they can make the businesses a source of income for their retirements. The case has a difficulty level appropriate for a senior level course in small business management, entrepreneurship, or strategic management.
