摘要:Aims: To evaluate the oral and dental health status of 15 year-old adolescents in the Rhône-Alpes region a year after the implementation of the national oral-dental prevention convention. Methods: We randomly selected 1908 adolescents aged 15 years who participated in the prevention program in the Rhône-Alpes region. Accordingly, we analyzed dental reports and resulting procedures performed by dental surgeons during the prevention initiative. Results: 75.8 % of the preventive examinations failed to include an X-ray. The last dental examination was more than one year before in 63.0 % of the adolescents studied. The average DMFT index was 3.6 ± 3.5 % and 49.6 % of this population required care. Dental scaling and polishing were required in 36.5 % of the subjects. Among the 63.5 % of the adolescents who never had received orthodontic treatment, 18.8 % needed an orthodontic evaluation. Following the preventive examination, 77.6 % of the teeth receiving care were molars. 91.9 % of the procedures performed following the preventive examination consisted in conservative treatment, 0.7 % involved dental surgery and 7.4 % were represented by X-rays. Conclusions: The oral-dental health status of 15 yearold adolescents in the Rhône-Alpes region can be considered to be moderately affected, with a median DMFT index equal to 3 involved teeth. Half of this population was in need of, essentially conservative, dental care. Systematic yearly screening of these adolescents appears to be a judicious decision.
