摘要：The basic aim of this study is to determine thebasics of the banking crises in Turkish Republic ofNorthern Cyprus (TRNC) within the framework ofliterature survey in order to create and preservestability in the sector. According to the basicfindings of the study critical factors causingbanking crises can be categorized under theheadings of external factors, macroeconomicpolicies, legal arrangements, holding banks, lenderof resort, credit risk & management, capitaladequacy and ethical issues combined with theregulatory and supervisory deficiencies.Furthermore it has been observed that crisisnegatively affected bank deposits, credits andpublic confidence on local banks in such a way thatfinancial investors direct or swing their depositsfrom Government banks and Private commercialbanks to Foreign banks with head offices in Turkey such as Türkiye İş Bankası AŞ and TC ZiraatBankası.
