摘要:Aims: To describe the features, the management, its results and its cost concerning Moselle's insured people suffering from chronic low-back pain and profiting, after decision of the COmmission Technique d'orientation et de reclassement professionnel (COTOREP), from a vocational rehabilitation.Method: Descriptive study undertaken between August 2000 and March 2001 within the framework of a partnership with Moselle's COTOREP integrating 48 people suffering from chronic low-back pain to whom the COTOREP gave an agreement of vocational preguidance or vocational rehabilitation in 1995.Results: The low-back pain patient dealt with was a young man, of low school and low professional level, in rupture with work context and suffering from an invalidating lumbar pathology. Out of 32 followed formations 24 applicants passed their examination but only 10 graduates found an employment. Eight graduates found an employment in conformity with the learned formation. The return to work rate was not different between the graduates (10/24) and the other low-back pain patients (11/24). The total cost for the health insurance varied from 25 000 € in non-resident case to 39 000 € in boarding case. Conclusion: On account of the low added value of vocational rehabilitation we pointed out it appears desirable to maintain the chronic low-back pain patient in his (her) employment by restoring his (her) backbone, by arranging his (her) working station and, especially, by managing his (her) fears and beliefs related to the couple "low-back pain-work".
