摘要:The objective of this research was to verify the impact of the organizational values on work stress. The sample was composed of 626 employees from a banking institution working in agencies located in the cities of Sao Paulo, Rio and Brasilia. The Work Stress Scale and the Organizational Values Portrait Inventory were used for the evaluation of the variables studied. Descriptive statistics were employed to establish the stress level in the organization as well as values hierarchy. Four factors explained the work stress: autonomy, preoccupation with the collectivity, organizational achievement and conformity. The beta was negative for the first three factors and positive for the last one. It was concluded that the organizational values priorities can either act as stressor or as stress prevention factor.
