摘要：This paper aims at investigating the relationship between individual working process and individual decision making process using a survey which analyzes the impact of IT on the work and decision making process of its users. The research was done through 408 questionnaires with bank employees of one of the biggest Brazilian banks. The canonical correlation analysis was used as a multivariate statistical method for assessing linear relationships between different groups of variables. Two instruments were used: the first one measured the perception of users in relation to the impact of IT in productivity, innovation, customer satisfaction and management control. The second one evaluated the impact of IT in the individual decision making process proposed by Simon (1960). With this instrument an analysis of the phases of intelligence, conception, choice, and implementation was made. The results show the existence of a positive relationship between both instruments, highlighting that IT affects the work of its users, as well as their decision making process. Innovation and management control are the variables which affect decision making process the most, demanding special attention from executives.
