摘要:A method is proposed to share and hide a given secret image S. The image is transformed to digits which are then shared to create n shadow images. To avoid attackers’ attention, each shadow image is hidden further in an ordinary-looking host image to form a stego image. Any r of the n hidden shadows can be used to recover S, while less than r hidden shadows cannot. Each natural-looking stego image (with the shadow image hidden inside) is usually 1/r times smaller than that of the secret image, and hence avoids the waste of storage space or transmission time. The method surpasses our previous work (Pattern Recog. 37 (2004) 1377-1385) because the images’ quality is superior. Also, we have more freedom here about the choice of the number (n) of shadow images being created. Therefore, the new method is more suitable (than the old one) for a news photographer working in an enemy area and wants to transmit photos.
