摘要：Progressive suburbanization in post-comunist area changes the sociodemographic structure of the city. This changing process (migration of middle-class from the core city into the suburban zones) re-defines electors´ behaviour in the city and its agglomeration. The aim of this articel is to delimit the metropolitan area according to needs of detailed election research. On the example of Brno agglomeration the text compares different approaches how to define the suburban area according to existing sociodemographic data and comparable election data.
