摘要:This paper describes a study carried out to investigate the
mediating role of environmental beliefs on the relationship
between values and the ecological behavior of activism in Brazilian
students. A sample of 443 students from Brasilia (54.2% females
and 45.4% males) with mean age = 22.75 (SD = 6.1) responded to
three scales. The first one measured the ecological behavior of
activism, the second one assessed environmental (ecocentric and
anthropocentric) beliefs while the last one measured personal
values of the Brazilian sample. Hierarchal multiple regression
analyses showed that environmental beliefs were significant
mediating variables on the relationship between values of
universalism, benevolence and self direction and the ecological
behavior of activism.
