摘要:Previous research seems to show that anti-environmental
behaviour is a particular case of anti-social behaviour. This makes
sense because anti-sociality implies obstructing others¡¯ access to
using natural resources. The aim of this study was to investigate
whether some traits of antisocial behaviour are also characteristics
of anti-environmentally-oriented people. Responses from 150
individuals to a questionnaire investigating risk-taking tendency,
lack of self-control, anti-social and anti-environmental behaviours
and pro-ecological actions (PEA) were analyzed. Results indicated
that the first four variables were significantly interrelated, but PEAs
only covaried ¨Cin a negative way- with risk taking and lack of selfcontrol.
The absence of correlation between anti-social/antienvironmental
behaviour and proecological actions could be
indicative of a cognitive dissociation between what people think is
good for the environment and bad for society, at least in some
instances of the use of natural resources.
