摘要：The subspecies of the Grasshopper Sparrow Ammodramus savannarum caucae, endemic to Colombia, is considered critically endangered. It has only been recorded in the inter-Andean Cauca river valley in the departments of Cauca, Valle del Cauca and Quindío, but in recent expeditions to the upper Patía valley, we located a new population of this subspecies in a series of grassland "mesetas". These new records substantially extend the known distribution of this threatened subspecies, and establish a new potential area for its conservation.
