  • 摘要:With the appearance of new supporting formats, literacy has become an increasingly more operative concept in so far as reading encloses the potential to retrieve the text’s value as content and meaning. The capacity to use and understand these formats which serve as supports to reading have developed significantly, as has the ability to optimise their instrumentality, and thus we have come to accept as part of the concept of information / information technology the root meaning (in etymological terms) of "form", a factor which induces the value of structuring and thinking data. Therefore, it is necessary to revise approaches and find solutions to respond to constraints and barriers that hinder the habit of reading and interfere in its active and basic concept of legere – which in its etymology means "(re)collecting" and also "choosing". Consequently, reading is a process of humanising and educating critically and freely; a way to participate in the creative community's conviviality and not only as a way to solve pragmatic situations. Philologists, editors / editorialists, booksellers, librarians, teachers, all the agents involved and committed to a textual community have the responsibility to promote reading habits: - each one has specific, interdependent and complementary functions. The new literacy is not limited to the simple primary operations of spelling, scribbling words and counting.
