摘要:This article aims to explore a selection of subject-matters found in Spanish Literature that may be of particular interest to Portuguese researchers as, in some measure, they shed light on the cultural relations between the two Iberian countries. Thus, three domains are here considered: Portuguese matters found in Spanish literary works, the bilingualism of some texts, and the confrontation between characters, whether fictional or real. Particular emphasis is given to El Príncipe Constante, where the main character is the Infante D. Fernando, El Amor Médico, a ‘comedy’ in which some characters speak both languages, and El Ingenioso Hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha, because of the debateable likeliness between Quixote / D. Sebastião and Sancho / “Zé Povinho”.
