摘要：The present article provides an introduction to the special issue of Revista Electrónica de Lingüística Aplicada (RAEL) which is devoted to the analysis of newspaper editorials and opinion articles written in English, Spanish and French. My purpose in this paper is to frame the themes tackled in this monograph issue about newspaper opinion discourse, to highlight the paradigms and perspectives represented in the work of contributors and to provide a description of the article types included.
