摘要:The theoretical models used in the last 20 years to deal with the topic of stratification
were not created in Latin America, making it a theoretical and methodological necessity
to contextualize these models for this geographical region. This requires verifying the
empirical efficiency of these models in our countries. Specifically, this research focused
its attention on the analysis of social stratification in B¨a-B¨ao Region (Chile) in the
period between 1982 and 2002. The theoretical approach was based on Goldthorpe!as
studies and the information obtained from the Censuses of Population and Housing.
