摘要:The rising interest in the economic study of tourism requires an in-depth approach to its socio-
cultural aspects. This paper aims, through the theory of local development and the application
of the industrial economy perspective to the tourist industry, at elucidating the role of tourism for
an effective local and regional development, by comparatively studying the cases of coastal
and hinterland destinies around Buenos Aires. The concepts of cluster and local productive
system are directly applied to tourism; it is hoped that this work will contribute to advance new
action proposals for the tourist industry.
