摘要：This article has resulted from an evaluation research of peace building experiences in eight municipal and state schools of Porto Alegre. The data analysis emerged from interviews with teachers who were participants in a value education training through VIVE project – Living Values in Education that seeks the construction of a management based on inclusive and peaceful practices. The results point out that violence within schools is expressed in many ways. Violence prevention initia-tives based on peace education have contributed to the improvement of relations between students and teachers, signalizing to the importance of the intervention in social structures that reproduce the phe-nomenon.
