摘要：Manuel Nogueira de Sousa and Soror Madalena da Glória are the authors of two brief poems of an epic-narrative nature written at the turn of the 18th century, which serve here as the starting point for reflection on the paths of intersection between the Bible and poetry. Taking the biblical figures of Jacob and Rachael as its main focus, this paper aims to evaluate the meaning of their portrayal in the poems studied, while also seeking to reveal the influence of other literary mediations in their constructive process
