摘要：According to the German Penal Code („Strafgesetzbuch”,
StGB) life sentences can be imposed for nearly 20 offences.
In contrast, however, life sentences are mostly used for the
offence of murder (about 95 per cent).1 Murder (article 211
StGB) carries a mandatory life sentence.
