摘要:This paper describes the application of a Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach as the instructional design basis for the design and development of an interactive multimedia courseware for teaching a nutrition topic to Form Two classes in Malaysian secondary schools. The prototype has been developed using the Hybrid Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach called C2HADAM. The aim of the project is to provide courseware that would develop competency especially problem solving skills and also generic skills in communication and collaboration. This article will provide a theoretical framework for the application of PBL to develop C2HADAM. The researchers also highlight some of the learning theories referred to in developing the C2HADAM prototype namely constructivism, contextual education, collaborative learning and PBL. The concepts of inquiry learning, contextual education, simulation, exploratory learning and student-centred learning are also incorporated in C2HADAM. This paper also aims to show some of the screen snapshots taken from the C2HADAM prototype. The findings from the pilot test are also discussed.
