摘要:In the 202 years since his death, every action of the legendary British sailor, Horatio Nelson has been the subject of intense scrutiny by scores of historians, biographers and maritime tacticians, who generally ascribe heroic proportions to his virtues, while occasionally demonizing him for his failings. Nelson remains, not just a Royal Navy icon, but a British national hero, and his name has entered the lexicon of the English language as an adjective: “Nelsonian”.
