摘要:To know the eating habits of Mexican urban adolescents, will provide tools to carry out an intervention plan. Cross-sectional study: 632 students, 12 - 15 years (54% women). A food consumption questionnaire was applied. "Healthy" and “Not healthy” approaches were settled a priori. "Not healthy" consumption of fruit/vegetables (76.9%), beans (59.1%), natural water (56.3%), cheese (70.3%), sausages (51.1%), hamburgers/pizzas (50.9%), sweet/chocolates (53.5%), coffee (53.4%). Water and candy/chocolates intake, with significant differences between sexes. The majority does not take as minimum three meals per day. It is necessary to develop educational intervention strategies besides eating guides, with the purpose of modifying inadequate eating patterns. All this, joined with this population’s characteristics of the description, will help in the elaboration and adequacy of an action plan.
