标题：Dokumentation und Analyse der Schadensereignisse 2005 in den Gemeinden Gasen und Haslau (Steiermark) = Documentation and Analyses of Disasters 2005 in the Communities of Gasen and Haslau (Styria).
摘要：In August 2005,Austria was hit by heavy rain events which caused severe damages. For this reason, BFW was charged by the Austrian Ministry for Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management (BMLFUW) to make a detailed investigation on the disasters in the most affected areas of Styria (the communities of Gasen and Haslau near Birkfeld) and Vorarlberg. The documentation of flood events, mass movements and landslides followed the „5W-concept“, the five axes that somehow identify the information event:What,Who,Where, When and Why. As a next step, field data were entered into the gateway for event announcements of the digital torrent and avalanche register. This paper concentrates mainly on the interpretation of digitally recorded data. On the one hand, the extent of losses is shown in detail, on the other hand, the causes and trigger mechanisms that initiate these processes are analysed. Interpretations are completed by data on meteorological conditions. For this purpose, a recently developed analysis tool of the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics was used. The results of field surveys of a geologist commissioned by BFW provided additional geotechnical, structure geological and hydrogeological information on damage processes. These were linked with data from site mapping and agricultural soil survey available at BFW. Besides these interpretations the present publication provides an insight into practical aspects of documentation work. Steps are suggested to further develop this method on the basis of the generated knowledge.
