摘要：A short survey of the most important results of more than 20 years of interdisciplinary forest ecosystemresearch is given. research work was coordinated by the Federal research and training centre for Forests, natural Hazards and landscape (BFW). many austrian and German institutions have participated since the 1980’s, especially in research at the altitude Profile Zillertal and the altitude Profiles achenkirch (tyrol). the investigations focussed on early stress detection, establishing and promoting of bioindication methods, risk assessment for mountain forests in austria (especially the role of ozone) as well as on modelling of nitrogen flows under different scenarios.
