摘要：In this study, the procedure of cartilage and bone staining of larva and juvenile of turbot was
established. For this purpose, 0, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35 and 42 days old turbot specimens were submerged
1.5 to 8 hours in Alician Blue for cartilage staining and 15 to 57 hours in Alizarin Red
S for bone staining. As a result of this study, there was no staining with Alician Blue in day 0.
The best results were recorded staining with Alician Blue for 0.5, 2, 3 and 4 hours in day 7, 14,
21 and the otter day¡¯s old specimens, respectively. There was no staining with Alizarin Red S
in day 0, 7, 14 and 21 for the otter specimens. The best result was recorded staining with Alizarin
Red S in 48 hours for the otter day¡¯s old specimens. Double staining methods can be used
larval stage of aquaculture for determining abnormalities. Furthermore these methods can be
used as a useful tool for early life history study.
