摘要：The aim of this research was to determine the validity of a Spanish version of the Zarit Burden Interview. A sample of 141 informal primary caregivers that accompanied their patients to Mexican health public institutions, participated in this study. The majority in the sample were women. The Health Survey for the Informal Caregiver, the Zarit Caregiver´s Burden Interview, and the General Health Questionnaire-28 were applied to the subjects. Their sociodemographic characteristics were found to be very similar to those reported in the literature. The ZCBI showed good internal consistency and construct validity. It is concluded that the ZCBI is a reliable questionnaire to evaluate the presence of burden in the informal primary caregiver of Mexican patients with chronic-degenerative diseases.
