摘要：The history of translation into Catalan in the 19th century does not include the figure of a professional translator; it presents a writer who also works as a translator There were, however, very few eighteenth century women writers who wrote in Catalan. In fact the exact number is still unknown and the amount and quality of the literary works they produced are, with few exceptions, also not known. As a result of the little research carried out in this field and the scarce information available, it is difficult to determine to what extent these Catalan women writers contributed to the world of translation at that time. This work aims to deal with this issue as well as clarifying the present state of affairs in this area.
