摘要:The purpose of this study is to determine the social skills level of physical education and sport department students. The working group consisted of 208 students who study at Uludağ University Faculty of Education, Physical Education and Sport Department in the 2005-2006 academic year. The research has been designed as descriptive research. The material used in this research is Social Skills Inventory (SSI). As a result, students who participated in the research took an average 292.60 points in SSI, 46.61 points on the emotional expressivity inferior scale (EE), 53.41 points on the emotional sensitivity inferior scale (ES), 41.34 points on the emotional control inferior scale (EC), 48.05 points on the social expressivity inferior scale (SE), 47.93 points on the social sensitivity inferior scale (SS) and 55.26 points on the social control inferior scale (SC). In terms of sexuality variable, girls achieved higher points on the SSI, EE inferior scale and ES inferior scale while boys gained more points on the EC inferior scale. In terms of the graduated high school type variable, vocational high school graduates took more points on the EC inferior scale than other high school graduates. In terms of the graduated field variable, numerical field graduates gained more points on the ES inferior scale than other field graduates. In terms of the place lived for the first 10 years variable, students who lived in a city got higher points than the ones who lived in towns, and students who lived in towns got higher points than those who lived in a village on the SC inferior scale. In terms of the socio-economic situation variable, students at the middle and high socio-economic level gained higher points on the SSI, EE inferior scale, ES inferior scale and SC inferior scale than those with a low socio-economic level.
