摘要：BODY IN MARIFETNÂME
Some books have got relatively very big influences on society. In this meaning, it can be said that religious texts are first, for they have influences going beyond the time on societies. Societies can become old, but we can not say the same thing for the sacred books and the religious texts. Some books except religious ones can show a fundamental effect on societies. Marifetnâme (Book of Enlightenment) by Ibrahim Hakki Erzurûmî in 1756 is so. It has been very effective on the though structure and religious understanding of Turkish people. Marifetnâme was an encyclopaedic work that caused a stir in Ottoman Turkey when it was written and continued to exert an influence for long afterwards. Marifetnâme was the book of Erzurumlu Ibrahim Hakki as a scholar of wide interests who whose work encompassed science, anatomy, astronomy, linguistics, mysticism, mathematics, body, physiognomy, psychology, philosophy and what today we call sociology, etc. This study aims to consider and to understand the body having an important place in Marifetnâme.
