摘要:Australian wheat exports are expected to fall precipitously 4.5 million tons from last year to
the lowest level in 13 years due to poor production resulting from drought. Because of low
exportable supplies, Australia will undoubtedly focus its attention on major importers. It will
try to maintain a strong presence in Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, and Malaysia, as well as
attempt to recapture the Iraqi market. Nonetheless, it will not be able to satisfy demand for
many traditional buyers in Asia, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean. Major grain
suppliers such as the United States, Russia, and Kazakhstan will have the opportunity to
increase their market shares in these regions.
