摘要:In order to improve the provenance identity of forest reproductive material a certification
system was operationally established in 2002 - called Z¨¹F. It is essentially based on reference
samples and on the comparison of their genetic composition. This system should be constantly
adjusted regarding the recent scientific knowledge. For this reason, molecular markers of
chloroplast and of nuclear DNA were used in the tree species sycamore, spruce and silver fir
in order to test their applicability for the practicability within the Z¨¹F-system. Additionally, it
was proofed if a more significant guaranty of identity could be obtained by means of stableisotope
analyses. In sycamore and in silver fir, nuclear microsatellites and in spruce so-called
expressed-sequence-tag marker (EST) were successfully applied to Z¨¹F-samples. By using
isozyme markers as well as DNA markers it is possible to look at a bigger part of the genome
implying a higher significance for the provenance control. Stable isotope can also be successfully
used for this aim in general. They are, however, neither suited for the comparison of
seed samples and harvested tree nor for the comparison seed samples and plants.
