摘要：A new caldera, named Malpaso, is reported west of the city of Aguascalientes,
Mexico. The Malpaso caldera is a volcano-tectonic depression, highly fractured
and faulted, and was filled by voluminous pyroclastic products related to the
caldera collapse. Due to these characteristics it as a graben caldera. It is
truncated by younger normal faults of the Calvillo and Aguascalientes grabens.
In this work we present a summary of the geologic and structural observations on
this caldera, as well as a description of the main caldera product, the
high-grade El Ocote ignimbrite.
