摘要:This article defends the thesis that the current process of globalization is a betrayal of the
old enlightened ideal of universality of human rights, because it’s a merely economic globalization,
which has created a widening gap between wealthier and poorer countries. Because
a lot of citizens of poor countries are trying to overcome this gap by immigration, the
author analyzes how rich countries receive immigrants and refuse to grant basic rights to
them. Against this economic globalization, the author sets up a globalization of justice and
rights, and against the current pattern of exclusion and marginalization of immigrants, a
new pattern of cosmopolitan citizenship.
