摘要：The neighbouring plateaus of Abomey and
Aplahou. in South B.nin have a bimodal
rainfall pattern with a mean annual total of
1050-1100 mm. The soils of the plateaus are Nitisols,
which means that their physical properties are good
for oil palms, but their fertility depends largely on
organic matter and clay content. The natural
vegetation before human occupation was a mixture
of sub-Sudanese savanna and sub-Sudanese clear
forest.
