FUNCTIONAL ZONES
摘要：The paper aims at highlighting the structural changes of the functional zones of Craiova, which is
quite a difficult task since industrial, commercial, financial and residence elements intermingle within the
same area. However, we can identify distinct zones where particular functions of the town are predominant:
the nucleus, comprising the central part of the town, is the area with the most intense tertiary activity; the
residential zones are surrounding the central area, forming a radial-divergent grid; there are also 5 industrial
zones, 3 of them within the administrative territory of the town (east, north and north-west) and 2 satellite
industrial zones (Podari and Isalnita), green areas, deposits and railways.
