摘要：The distribution of the monthly mean precipitation quantities highly differs within Oltenia due to the features of the active surface and, especially, to the characteristics of the general atmosphere circulation. As compared to the multi-annual mean, there has been noticed a high variability of the monthly quantities. Thus, within the low plain area, it is registered an increased frequency (30-40 per cent) of the quantities belonging to the first two value categories (below 20 mm), especially in January, February and September, October, while in the higher hilly and mountainous area, there generally predominate quantities higher than 50 mm per month, even during the cold season of the year.
