摘要：The problem of municipal solid waste is of the utmost importance at the present
time, due to the lack of local and systems suitable for final. The municipality
of Campina Grande / PB also facing this problem, since the wastes are collected
and discarded, without regard to any segregation. Thus, this study aims to
examine the background of solid waste management in the city and its
implications on the socio-economic. To achieve the same were made public visits
to breakdowns in "garbage disposal" municipal, to see the situation of social
agents involved and to highlight the urgent need to seek alternatives for their
sustainable management. It was possible to see the urgent need for adoption of
public policies for environmental management with social inclusion in the area.
