摘要：This paper presents the importance of user profile in information
retrieval, information filtering and recommender systems using explicit and
implicit feedback. A Firefox extension (based on XUL) used for gathering data
needed to infer a web user profile and an example file with collected data are
presented. Also an algorithm for creating and updating the user profile and
keeping track of a fixed number k of subjects of interest is
presented.
