摘要:One hundred years ago, in August, 1907, the Ethics
Committee of the American Bar Association, which was
formed to develop ¡°Canons of Ethics¡± for the legal profession,
submitted this proposed canon to the ABA House of
Delegates:
Canon 17 ¡°. . . newspaper advertisements, circulars,
and business cards tendering professional services to
the general public are proper; but special solicitation
of particular individuals to become clients ought
to be avoided . . .¡±1 (emphasis added).
