摘要:The Society of Artisans La Union (SAU) was founded in 1862 and its Archive
(ASAU) dates back from that same year. The undeniable importance of its history
and heritage motivated a group of historians to propose the implementation of the
valorization and dissemination of its documentary contents.
This article focuses on the declaratory process of the Archive as a national
Historical Monument. This project was funded by FONDART between July and
December of 2006.
The first part of the article outlines the form in which the Archive was identified,
organized, stored and cleaned up. Each one of these steps is fully explained and charts
show the total sizes of the documents that make up the ASAU.
The second part of the article deals with the preparation of the technical dossier
of the declaration that enabled the ASAU to qualify as a Historical Monument.
