摘要：An inventory of opposing arguments on the link between social welfare and economic performance,
reveals to what extend the economists are divided on the issue of knowing whether social welfare
hinders or contributes to economic performance. Social welfare will discourage saving and
investment, will be harmful to employment and its funding would burden the territory¡¯s
competitiveness.
