Cerebellar ataxia results from impairments of the coordination center located in the cerebellum. The functional impairments of the cerebellum can lead to „abasia“, an inability to walk and „astasia“, problems associated with maintaining upright stance. The use of the gait training with childhood cerebellar ataxia provides a positive effect on the somatosensory system, improves dynamic balance, and benefits the child’s self-esteem and attitude towards his environment. In our study, with the use of gait and movement analysis we attempted to demonstrate the improvement of the motorium. The force platform showed characteristic differences between normal and pathological gait and demonstrated the results of the gait training.
