The paper contains a research study developed by the authors concerning the content and the evolution of the European and Romanian labor market from the perspective of the European policies. The paper also presents main changes in the European labor market. Other direction of approach is based on the opportunities of the European market for the Romanian qualified people. The last part of the paper contains the main changes in the European System for Higher Education and the main actions already established at the European level for the period 2007 – 2010.
