In this article we present a study made from action research
within the framework of teacher training. We deal with the topic of the
comprehension and elaboration of the main idea of a text, through the
actions taken together with school heads and teachers belonging to the
level of Educación General Básica (Basic General Education). We start from
the concept and the representation that the school heads and teachers have
about the main idea of a text and then, we present the activities proposed
and the reflections that confirm the results obtained.Ž
