摘要:In its annual ¡°Best 30¡± ranking
of consumer hits for 2005, Nikkei
Trendy gave the nod to Apple
Computer, Inc. for its successful
sales of iPod ¡°nano¡± and iTunes
Music Store. For Trendy¡¯s numero
uno in 2006, yet another electronics
gadget took the nation by
storm. Nintendo Co., Ltd.¡¯s DS Lite
(pictured) handheld game unit,
and its various accompanying
software programs, continued
to move, outselling Sony Corp.¡¯s
PSP by almost three to one and
reaching total sales of 11.67
million units since its December
2004 launch. Ultra-compact cars,
with engine displacement of
under 660cm3, continued to strut
their stuff, as the ¡°Little Five¡± of
Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd., Suzuki
Motor Corp., Mitsubishi Motors
Corp., Honda Motor Co., Ltd. and
Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. enjoyed
solid growth, even as the full-size
passenger-car market declined.
Rounding out the top five were
Shiseido Co., Ltd¡¯s new Tsubaki
line of cosmetics; the Mixi SNS
(social-networking service), which
with 5.7 million members is
giving Yahoo and Rakuten headaches;
and the W-ZERO3 PDA
(personal digital assistant), which
has been enjoying strong sales to
business users.
