摘要:International schools may seem a bit mysterious to
some. For those investigating international schools,
the initial inquiries may lead one to believe they are
all basically similar ¨C and all a bit enigmatic.
Yet, international schools differ among themselves in
size, population, location (as far north as Sapporo and as
far south as Okinawa). Also, some are accredited, while
some are not. Some offer the International Baccalaureate
program, while some lean towards the more American
Advanced Placement program. Some provide pre-kindergarten
through 12th-grade programs; others go only to
8th or 9th grade. There are many preschools that include
¡°international¡± in their names. What is an international
school, really, and what makes an international school
special? (Tuition at international schools can run from
£¤900,000-2,000,000 per year. Can international schools be
that special?)
