摘要：Economic activity in St Vincent and the
Grenadines expanded in the first quarter of 2006
relative to the performance in the corresponding
period of 2005. The expansion was underpinned by
favourable developments in the construction sector
and a rebound in output in the manufacturing and
agricultural sectors. The consumer price index
increased by 0.3 per cent. The fiscal operations of
the central government resulted in a lower overall
deficit compared with that in the first three months
of 2005. The merchandise trade deficit widened,
reflecting higher import payments. Commercial
bank liquidity remained at a high level during the
first quarter.
